Privacy Policy

Who we are

The Project DayZ is a gaming community operating DayZ game servers and the websites listed below. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us on our Discord server.

Scope

This policy applies to our community website (theprojectdayz.com), our donation website (donate.theprojectdayz.com), and our Discord support-ticket system, including its staff-only ticket archive (tickets.theprojectdayz.com).

Server logs & hosting

Like almost every website, our hosting providers automatically record standard access logs when you visit: your IP address, the date and time of the request, and the page requested. These logs are used solely to operate the websites and to protect them against abuse, and are not combined with other data.

Cookies

The community website does not set any cookies and does not use any analytics or tracking. The donation website uses a session cookie that is technically required for logging in and completing a donation; it is not used for tracking.

Donation website data

When you use the donation website, you sign in with Discord, which shares your Discord username and account ID with us. You may also provide your Steam ID. Together with the details of your donation, this information is used solely to deliver the perks you selected — for example priority queue slots (provisioned via CFTools Cloud) and Discord roles.

Payments

Donations are processed by PayPal. Your payment details (such as card or bank information) are handled entirely by PayPal and are never visible to us. See the PayPal privacy statement for details.

Discord support tickets

When you open a support ticket on our Discord server, our ticket bot collects the information you submit in the ticket form (such as your Steam ID and a description of your issue) together with your Discord username and account ID. The messages and images you post inside your ticket channel are stored as a transcript when the ticket is closed. Transcripts are visible only to our staff team through a login-protected staff portal (tickets.theprojectdayz.com, Discord sign-in required) and are used for support, moderation, and evidence purposes — for example cheater reports. The bot does not read messages anywhere else on our Discord server.

Ticket messages may be processed by Anthropic's Claude API to help draft support replies and summaries; this data is not used to train AI models.

Transcripts are kept for as long as they are relevant for moderation purposes. You can request deletion of your ticket data at any time by opening a support ticket or contacting us on our Discord server, and we will remove it.

Third-party services

We rely on the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

  • CFTools Cloud — game-server management, server statistics, the leaderboard (which displays in-game player names and stats), and priority queue perks.
  • Steam — game-server status information.
  • Discord — community chat, our support-ticket system, sign-in on the donation website and the staff ticket archive, and Discord role perks.
  • Anthropic — AI assistance for support tickets (drafting replies and summaries from ticket conversations); not used to train AI models.

Data retention & your choices

We keep data only as long as it is needed for the purposes described above. If you would like data about you removed — for example your leaderboard entry, donation account data, or support-ticket transcripts — contact us on our Discord server and we will take care of it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we add or change features. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
